Every year,

1 in 5

youth aged 12-17 engages in a problematic use of drugs or alcohol.

Of these, only 10% will receive care or treatment for their use.

Arrow pointing right

Despite its prevalence, middle + high schools often lack the necessary awareness, resources, + understanding to effectively support these students.

Fight the Good Fight exists to bridge the gap between adolescent substance use and support systems in schools.

By providing support, spreading awareness, and preventing adolescent drug use. So that all students would know they are seen, heard, and believed in. Working to see communities come together with courage to Fight the Good Fight— for ourselves, and for others.

Because even in the depths and destruction of addiction, people aren’t meant to be given up on.

BRIDGING THE GAP

BRIDGING THE GAP -

AWARENESS

Represent “FTGF” in morse code, because addiction is often a battle fought in secret.

launching soon!

ASSEMBLIES

FTGF school assemblies to prevent lifelong substance without it being the focus. Main themes will be hope, resiliency, self-esteem, and leaning on your community for support.

ASSETS

  • Evidence-based curriculum on preventing drug use in adolescence. A shame-free and compassionate-based approach.

  • FTGF would leave schools with instructions and curriculum on how to lead a support group for at-risk youth, or youth struggling with addiction. If a school chooses to implement, a focus of an assembly could be on leaning on others for support— with an invitation to join afterwards.

  • Training everyday staff (teachers, academic counselors, paras) with how to spot and support those struggling.

ADVOCACY

FTGF aims to partner with communities to build connections between counties, organizations, and schools.

lets connect !

Bridging the gap between adolescent substance use and support in schools.

Awareness

Selling merchandise with the message “FTGF” in morse code, as the battle of mental health and substance abuse is often fought in secret.

Advocacy

One of the largest gaps in school support is the budget to social workers and chemical dependency counselors. As it grows, FTGF will offer grants for schools with high need.

Assemblies

School assemblies will prevent addiction by (1) showing students fighting “hidden” battles that they aren’t alone and (2) empowering students to fight for others.

Assets

FTGF wants to leave schools with resources for on-going support!!! The goal is to best equip communities to fight the good fight themselves.
